This structure refers to the child's game of King of the Castle, where one child has pushed or beaten the other players off, and everything they see is theirs. They have taken all without consideration of who or what lived together or sustained each other and the country.
Making Kin is a proposition by some, including Donna Haraway in the Chthulucene, as a way of surviving in this world of extinction of species and extreme environmental change and depletion of the earth. This is collaborative approach between multispecies for recuperation. Joining forces, making-with rather than self-making, to reconstitute more liveable futures.
